Meet Your Instructor
Greetings fellow bug lovers! I'm Kristin Silver and I'll lead my introduction with a warning; should you proceed with this course, you may ignite an insect pinning addiction that could take over your life. You may never be the same again!
I've been an art teacher for over a decade. I love exploring new processes and gaining knowledge in different areas of art. For me, the love of insect pinning really took hold during the pandemic. While I had learned the process years earlier, I found myself with all the time I needed to really dive in and explore this artform. The biggest surprise for me was how relaxing I found insect pinning to be. I think of every single butterfly or moth I get to work with as a gift from nature, and I am very excited to get to pass this knowledge on to others.
